New Steinbeck Website Revitalizes and Reinforces Center’s Vision and Commitment to the Community
Steinbeck Center partners with Full Steam Marketing & Design to develop powerful communications tool and unified brand
Salinas, California – Aug 12, 2010
Full Steam Marketing & Design today announced the completion of the redesign of the National Steinbeck Center website. Engaged by the Center to revitalize its Web presence and upgrade its connection with three levels of its online community – local, national and international – Full Steam’s mission was to deliver a rich, contemporary, culturally diverse user experience while providing the Center with optimal functionality for managing and refreshing its content.
The Steinbeck Center and Full Steam began their creative collaboration in 1999 when Full Steam developed the first Steinbeck website. Now equipped with the latest Web technology and PowerNetToolsSM, a custom-developed suite of content management tools, Full Steam enjoyed the opportunity to re-synchronize with the Center’s vision while adding powerful new utilities to optimize user experience and author capabilities.
Born from the vibrant colors and elements of the memorable Steinbeck logo, designed by Full Steam, the look and feel of the updated website is a stepping stone for a new integrated brand experience that will help build increased recognition and awareness for the home town, central character and cultural riches of this national and worldwide attraction.
“We’ve had artists, donors, youth and visitors-at-large all respond so positively to the new site,” said Colleen Bailey, Executive Director, National Steinbeck Center. “Our vision was to communicate a sense of community and a sense of place, and Full Steam has absolutely captured it. What’s more, we can keep our vision fresh through the intuitive tools that allow us to update virtually all the site’s content.”
PowerNetToolsSM, first introduced by Full Steam in 2005, is designed specifically for non-technical users and tailored to the individual needs of each unique site. With absolutely no HTML or programming knowledge required, Steinbeck Center staff can post photos, upload PDFs, modify and format content, and even create new pages while completely preserving the integrity and look and feel of the site.
“In our 11-year history of website development, this is the most dynamic site we’ve ever created,” said Craig Kaufman, Principal, Full Steam Marketing & Design. “Dynamic content is crucial to the Internet’s success as a communications tool. With the ability to update and refresh over 90% of its website content, the Steinbeck Center is now able to fully utilize the Web to reach out and connect with communities around the world.”
