Salinas Marketing Firm Wins Produce Industry Recognition for Innovative Packaging Design
Full Steam provides winning designs for innovative products at PMA Fresh Summit 2011
Salinas, CA – Oct 17, 2011
Full Steam Marketing & Design today announced dual best of show wins at the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) 2011 Fresh Summit event in Atlanta, GA. As the result of innovative new packaging designs created for River Ranch Fresh Foods and Ocean Mist Farms, both companies were recognized as best in their class for packaging excellence.
River Ranch was looking for a fresh but classic new packaging design to place a renewed emphasis on its commodity and family size products. Full Steam’s approach was to streamline the existing River Ranch logo and to introduce rich duotones and subtle textural elements to convey classic values of workmanship and pride. At PMA Fresh Summit, River Ranch’s new Heritage Blend salad blend was recognized as the winner in the “best new product launch category” for execution of new product materials and innovation in generating awareness.
“Our collaboration with Full Steam resulted in a winning execution of our vision for our updated packaging look and feel,” said Kim St. George, Director of Marketing, River Ranch Fresh Foods. “Successful design depends on strong partnership and open communication, and Full Steam embodies the values we’re looking for in our marketing partner.”
Ocean Mist Farms was looking for a packaging design for a brand new category of microwavable artichokes. Full Steam applied the design elements it had created for Ocean Mist’s 4-count club store handle bag, and found creative ways to display critical preparation and cooking instructions while enabling maximum product visibility. A custom illustration was created to draw immediate attention to the unique “Season, Seal and Steam” attributes of the product. Ocean Mist was recognized with an Impact Award at PMA Fresh Summit for excellence in produce packaging.
“Full Steam appreciates the opportunity to work with industry thought leaders,” said Craig Kaufman, Principal, Full Steam Marketing & Design. “The more innovative our clients are, the more leeway we have to push our creativity to new levels and achieve industry recognition for our work.”
