Refreshed Website Puts Spotlight on Free Computer Training in Monterey County
Salinas-based non-profit Community Connection partners with Full Steam Marketing & Design to re-brand and re-energize community vision
Salinas – Jun 06, 2012
Full Steam Marketing & Design today announced the completion of the redesign of the Monterey County Office of Education Community Connection website.
Led by the Monterey County Office of Education Media Center for Art, Education and Technology (MCAET), Community Connection is a grant-funded program of the Central Coast Broadband Consortium Public Computing Alliance, a coalition of local organizations dedicated to the common purpose of providing access to public computer centers and free computer training throughout Monterey County.
Retained by the Monterey County Office of Education to revitalize the Community Connection website presence and emphasize the life-changing skills and tools available free of charge to the community, Full Steam’s mission was to deliver a website that visually conveyed the diversity of the students, the classroom amenities, the available technology and the rich array of experiences and events on offer.
Full Steam anchored the website with a rich, textural background that provides a contrasting backdrop for Community Connection’s many galleries and images of its program in action. The design treatment features the Connection logo color in a subtle role along with a palette of rich, complementary colors.
Behind the scenes, Community Connection staff are equipped with a powerful, fully customized suite of content management tools to dynamically update time-sensitive documents, photos and copy. Powered by Full Steam’s PowerNetToolsSM, a custom-developed suite of content management tools first introduced in 2005, Full Steam’s content management system is designed specifically for non-technical users and tailored to the individual needs of each unique site.
“We were looking for a fresh look and feel that would appeal to our diverse student population and generate excitement about the opportunities offered by Community Connection,” said Megan Heath, Community Connection Project Coordinator. “Full Steam has captured our vision and given us the intuitive tools to keep it fresh.”
