Full Steam Marketing & Design Updates Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce Logo
Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce works with local marketing and design firm to update image, reflect diversity of business community
Salinas, California – Jul 17, 2007
July 17, 2007 – Salinas – The Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce has spruced up its image with a new logo that reflects the diverse business environment and growing economy of the Salinas Valley.
The logo, created by Full Steam Marketing & Design in Salinas, employs a multi-dimensional image that captures the essence of Salinas Valley’s topography and industry. The logo consists of four identical green leaves swaying to the right and floating above the chamber’s name. The leaves, iconic and stylized graphically, call to mind crops, orchards or vineyards as well as the oak trees that dot the valley. Take a closer look and the leaves morph into the Salinas Valley itself, with the center vein of the leaves, in white, conjuring the Salinas River or Highway 1.
The new logo is part of the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to reflect the evolving economy of the Salinas Valley. While agriculture remains the cornerstone of the valley’s economy, other business segments – such as tourism, hospitality and education – have also become important to the valley’s economy.
“The new logo is a visual representation of what the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce stands for,” said Craig Kaufman, owner, Full Steam Marketing & Design. “It puts forth a professional image and speaks to the chamber’s approachability and inclusiveness.”
The chamber is evolving, too. Recently the organization has become active in government and regulatory issues, helping to create a more business-friendly climate in the greater Salinas area.
“The new logo is distinctive and dynamic,” said Peter Kasavan, Chairman of the Board, Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a good graphic depiction of our market in the Salinas Valley and effectively creates a compelling brand image for the Chamber.”
Jack Harvey, the Chamber’s volunteer Vice Chair for Membership and Marketing, led the effort to create a new logo and implement it’s use in all Chamber media. The Chamber chose Full Steam, Kasavan said, because of the company’s excellent reputation, and long-standing presence in Salinas.
“We’re honored and pleased that the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce chose Full Steam to develop its new look and image,” says Kaufman.
