Steinbeck Center Logo Design
The brand image for this national historic and educational institute had to combine key aspects: the writer and writing, celebration of the rich heritage and cultural diversity of Steinbeck’s Salinas Valley and a spirit of discovery which is embodied in the center itself. Full Steam devised a dramatic visual of bright orange-red sky against a silhouetted mountain range with the Salinas River represented as being connected to the flow of the writer’s pen. It is a tribute to the power of the written word and Steinbeck’s writing, which was heavily influenced by his life and his experiences in the Salinas Valley of California.
