Big Sur Land Trust Annual Report
An organization whose main goal is to utilize and conserve resources in Monterey County, Big Sur Land Trust was looking for a redesign and downsize of its existing tabloid format annual report. The objective was to create a high-end yet affordable piece that would convey the value and contributions made by its donors and board members while demonstrating the nonprofit’s dedication to cost savings and sustainability.
The goal of Salinas-based Full Steam Marketing & Design was to create a unique, memorable piece that would stand out on a desk or coffee table, but would be easy to mail and to handle and read. Subsequently Full Steam designed a distinctive 11″ × 11″ square report, reminiscent of a wall calendar. The look and feel of the piece imitates the cool color palette of the Big Sur coastline and mirrors the look and feel of the website, also created by Full Steam.
The 12-page report uses recycled paper, which gives it a lightweight, earthy feel and allows for easy mailing and optimal cost savings. The report, which provides a summary of current and future events to members of the Board and prospective volunteers and donors, is designed for ease of reading and consistent flow with photos arranged in a continuous panel across the top of each spread.
