Fullsteam Acquires Association Management Software StarChapter
Fullsteam, a holding company acquiring software and payments businesses, announced today the acquisition of StarChapter, a technology company providing business management software for the association management industry.
StarChapter provides local chapters of professional and trade associations and other small associations with all the tools they need to grow memberships, event attendance and revenue. The primary features of the software are membership management; event promotion and registration; member communications; website and content management; an eCommerce platform; and features tailored to common Board of Directors positions, such as President, Treasurer and Membership Chair.
Managing memberships is the key component of any Association Management System (AMS), and StarChapter greatly simplifies the tasks related to managing, organizing, updating and reconciling member records. With the membership management tools, StarChapter enables members to self-manage their records, update profile and contact information, and set privacy settings. Association administrators have flexibility to organize members by membership types, business types, committee levels, as well as other segmentations.
“We’re pleased to welcome StarChapter to the Fullsteam family of companies,” said Fullsteam CEO Michael A. Lawler. “It’s a great company that provides local association chapters with software, services and support that are second to none in that industry.”
Star Chapter LLC, co-founded in 2008 by Allan Cohen, is headquartered in Owings Mills, MD. Star Chapter has helped thousands of associations nationwide plan more than 125,000 meetings, track more than 530,000 members and send 200 million emails.
As part of the Fullsteam acquisition plan, the company will begin operating under the name StarChapter Software LLC, and Cohen will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of the business as a Fullsteam President.
“We are excited to join the Fullsteam portfolio of SaaS companies and to leverage our collective passion, knowledge, and experience in the SaaS and ecommerce space,” Cohen said. “Our healthy subscription base coupled with a strong payment platform is a powerful combination. We have exciting initiatives that are in the works and with Fullsteam as a partner we look forward to making it happen for our association customers and their members.”
