Fullsteam Acquires Eyewear Business Software Company Optical POS
Fullsteam, a private equity holding company acquiring software and payments businesses, announced today the acquisition of Optical POS, provider of the EyeCloud Pro software package for eyewear stores and optometry offices. Optical POS is Fullsteam’s first acquisition in the optical industry.
Launched commercially in 2012, EyeCloud Pro is designed to make optical-based businesses run more efficiently. Founder Ivan Samuels began developing the software during a 20-year career operating a successful multi-location optical business with stores in the Atlanta, Georgia area and Northwest Florida.
EyeCloud Pro’s medical-related features include “Doctor Desk,” a module designed for optometrists and other doctors to interact with patients. The software also includes “eRX” functionality for electronically submitting prescriptions directly to pharmacies. Other general business features include appointment booking, inventory control, expedited re-orders, marketing tools and customer invoicing.
“The EyeCloud Pro software from Optical POS is a market leader in the optical industry,” said Fullsteam CEO Michael A. Lawler. “We’re pleased to add Optical POS to the Fullsteam family as our first company in this industry.”
Based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Optical POS has more than 240 clients on EyeCloud Pro software. As part of the acquisition, company founder Samuels will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of Optical POS as a Fullsteam President.
